The COVID-19 pandemic turned our lives upside down. The virus has managed to change our healthy life pretty quickly. Living in the coronavirus pandemic masks has become essential to live.

1. Cleanse face Pre – Post wearing a mask.  


Cleansing or washing your face is the best thing you will do to your skin to maintain its healthy state.  

Taking off dirt, oil, and sweat is the most basic stuff we need to do to avoid breakouts.  

Choose a mild cleanser to get rid of all the excess oil and dirt.  

Make sure to pat dry your face before you put on your mask to avoid friction, which may lead to breakouts.

2. Wash mask in hot water.

Unless you are using use and throw face mask, you need to take extra care when it comes to cleaning it for the next use.  

‘Maskne’ can worsen if you don’t appropriately wash your face mask as that’s what is causing your skin to breakout.  

Washing your face mask in hot water is a plus point if you want to maintain healthy skin and also be ultra-safe with the virus.  

‘Wash fabric masks in hot water (at least 60 degrees) at least once in a day’ recommends WHO.  


3.   Use a silk face mask.    


I have come across this phrase ‘ use a silk pillowcase to prevent acne’ countless times, may it be on the internet or by a friend of mine.  

Silk fabric tends to absorb less moisture from the skin and also reduces friction between the fabric and skin.  

Using a silk face mask can surely help you prevent acne and maintain skin in a healthy state. Don’t expect your silk mask to clear up your acne as a fabric can’t cure acne but can prevent it.

4. Don’t modify your skincare routine.

If a new moisturizer is on sale and you tempted to get your hands on it and pamper yourself as you have all the time in the world, hold on dear, it is not the virtuous time to do that.  

Genuinely a product and its formula take way more time to work on your skin than you believe.

Foundations have a substantial base and cover up your skin, blocking the pores putting on the mask may cause an acne storm.  

Instead, you can opt for a tinted moisturizer with a light formula base.

6. Make pimple patches your new best friend.  

If you are someone who barely faced any acne problem and slay a perfectly smooth skin and wearing masks are getting in your nerves pimple patches will be your holy grail skincare product.
